JOB TITLE: Associate Director – Asset management

REPORTING TO: Director of Asset Strategy

 

Responsibilities

  • Working with a variety of clients in regulated industries (gas, water, electricity) to produce Asset Management Plans providing the basis exemplary business plans for regulatory review
  • Provide expert knowledge of asset management practice and technical and/or operational knowledge both to clients and to colleagues, ensuring a proactive approach is taken to resolving issues and identifying and working around constraints, and demonstrating a consistently high standard of delivery.
  • Identify work opportunities and foster great client relationships, maximising additional/repeat/follow-on work from clients.
  • Inspire and act as a role model to all staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment, where the team, learn, develop, and drive increased business results.
  • Development and mentoring of other staff
  • Actively contribute to a continuous improvement culture.

 

Duties

  • Work with the Director of Asset Strategy and other Technical Directors in Asset Management and Engineering to develop business plans for clients within the regulated industries based upon sound Asset Management principles
  • Work closely with clients to build a structured approach to asset planning and investment which can provide regulatory assurance of best practice.
  • Coordinate and provide leadership to other junior staff members to ensure that work is to an exemplary standard and adheres to core asset management objectives
  • Faithfully and diligently exercise and perform your duties as delegated to you in relation to the business of the company and use your best endeavours to promote the business interests of the company at all times.
  • Comply with all company rules, regulations and policies from time to time in force.
  • Plan, implement and control activities, achieve objectives and follow the company procedures and work instructions.

 

Skills/ Qualifications 

  • Extensive demonstrable experience in the production or review/audit of regulatory business plans (PR14, PR19, RIIO-2)
  • Degree in Engineering, Science or associated technical discipline
  • Good project management skills including organisational and delegation skills.
  • Good communication, report writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and other specialist computer packages (AutoCAD, Workspace, CRM’s, etc).
  • Full UK driving licence as travel throughout the UK will be required.
  • Full UK permit for work or residency.
  • Further education or second degree in a construction / engineering related discipline would be beneficial
  • Diploma in Asset Management is desirable
  • Membership of Institute of Asset Management or equivalent professional body would be beneficial

 

Authority 

  • In accordance with principles established by the MD and also as defined in Procedures.

 

Delegate 

  • In accordance with instructions from the MD, Director of Asset Strategy
  • Some duties may be delegated to other qualified persons in accordance with the procedures.

 

Liaise with 

  • In accordance with instructions from the MD
