Celebrating success at Aqua Consultants with multiple award wins and nominations
Published: 10 October 2024
This summer has been filled with exciting accomplishments as our talented team members have taken on high-profile industry challenges and been recognised for their exceptional contributions.
Charlotte Huntley and Subash Subbappa triumph at the Water Industry Forum Challenge
Our engineering team members Charlotte Huntley and Subash Subbappa recently participated in the prestigious Water Industry Forum (WIF) Team Challenge. This annual event, hosted by WIF, brings together industry professionals to tackle critical issues facing the UK water sector. This year, participants were tasked with pitching ideas to convey the importance of integrated water management to relevant stakeholders.
Charlotte and Subash were selected to join two separate teams, collaborating with other professionals in the industry. The competition featured 12 teams, with each evaluated on several criteria, including the understanding of the task, stakeholder engagement strategies, practicality, potential impact, innovation, and presentation quality.
We are thrilled to announce that Charlotte and her team not only won first place but were also awarded the prize for the most innovative presentation! As part of her prize, Charlotte attended a special lunch, the WIF Annual Dinner, in Birmingham last month with the WIF board of directors, and she will receive mentoring from a WIF board member. She will also have the opportunity to speak at next year’s WIF Team Challenge event.
Congratulations to Charlotte on this well-deserved success, and a big shout-out to Subash for his commendable effort in tackling this challenging competition!
Catherine Hagerman shortlisted for 2024 GEM Awards
In other news, our Quantity Surveyor Catherine Hagerman was shortlisted for the Rising Star category at Northumbrian Water’s 2024 GEM Awards. The GEM Awards, which stands for ‘Going the Extra Mile’, recognises the contributions of Northumbrian Water’s supply chain partners in helping them lead the way in sustainable water and wastewater services.
Catherine’s nomination was in recognition of her exceptional talent early in her with us. Her proactive approach and dedication have impressed project managers at Northumbrian Water, with Catherine delivering approximately £400,000 in savings for their capital delivery programme within just her first six months. Her professionalism and problem-solving skills have made a significant impact on the client, while her commitment to personal growth is evident in her active involvement with the Institute of Water’s Midlands division and her role as our environmental lead for AMP8.
Although the award ultimately went to another deserving nominee, Catherine enjoyed a fantastic evening at the ceremony alongside colleagues Simon Wiley and Gavin Tempest. Her nomination speaks volumes about her remarkable contributions, and she remains a rising star in our eyes.
Celebrating our team
We couldn’t be prouder of Charlotte, Subash, and Catherine for their incredible achievements. Their dedication, innovative thinking, and commitment to excellence continue to showcase the strength of our team. Here’s to many more successes in the future!
